Master of Accountancy

The Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota is pleased to present our Master of Accountancy (MAcc) Program. The program was created in response to legislation, effective July 1, 2006, requiring 150 semester hours for accountants to be certified in the State of Minnesota.

The mission of the MAcc Program is to prepare students to be successful 21st century accounting professionals in a dynamic, global business environment. To achieve our mission, the MAcc Program offers students a one-year program with a broad selection of graduate courses in accounting, taxation, finance, operations management and information systems, including Master of Business Taxation (MBT) and MBA courses.

The curriculum has been selected and developed by our faculty with extensive input and ongoing consultation with executives from the professional community. Our ongoing collaborative efforts with the professional community is a key component in the endless pursuit of our mission for the MAcc Program. For the students, such efforts ensure relevant, practical and challenging courses that will enhance their professional development.

Upon completion, students receive a Master of Accountancy (MAcc) degree from the Graduate School at the University of Minnesota. The MAcc program is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
