MBA in Strategy & Procurement Management - JUH

MBA Strategy & Procurement Management

The Centre for Business Strategy and Procurement (CBSP)

During the 1990s, an increasing number of organisations recognised procurement and supply as a key business competence. It is now accepted that the development of effective procurement and supply practices can impact directly upon the competitive position and operational efficiency of organisations.

Effective procurement is no longer seen as simply a question of obtaining the cheapest supplies or services at the right time. Rather, effectiveness requires an understanding of the wider economic drivers of the organisation and the structure of the supply chains within which the organisation is involved.

The Centre for Business Strategy and Procurement (CBSP) was set up in 1993 to lead and encourage this understanding. The Centre is dedicated to developing individual and corporate excellence in the area of business strategy and supply chain management, and is widely recognised as the leading body in this area in the UK.

The CBSP is involved in a number of activities, including joint research projects with public and private sector partners. It also provides a range of education and training programmes and workshops. At the heart of the CBSP's education and training is the MBA in Strategy and Procurement Management (SPM).

Established in 1993, the degree was the first of its kind. To date, over 300 students have either graduated or are currently undertaking the programme. The MBA (SPM) is highly regarded by both academics and practitioners, and is recognised by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, which awards full professional membership (MCIPS) to students successfully completing the programme. The programme is also accredited by the UK's leading quality assurance body for MBAs, AMBA.

This programme is available on a full-time or part-time modular basis. The part-time programme is also available in Hong Kong.
